Field Staff


Shoa Girma is the Chief of Party for C-Change/Ethiopia. Previously she was NetMark/AED Country Coordinator in Ethiopia for four years. Prior to that, Shoa managed and coordinated an HIV/AIDS mass media campaign sponsored by UNDP that included identifying messaging, branding components, and community intervention activities. She has an MPH in international health and development from Tulane University and is fluent in Amharic.

Bayisa Urgessa Gurmu is the Senior Training Manager. He has over five years of experience in capacity building and providing training on health-related issues, like youth reproductive health, HIV and AIDS, and malaria. Prior to AED, Bayissa worked for the BBC World Service Trust Ethiopia as co-researcher and community media training coordinator. He built the capacity of various organizations on youth reproductive health rights through technical training and material support. Bayissa has a BA in sociology and social anthropology from Addis Ababa University.

Berhanu Abebe is the Community Mobilization Manager. He worked for NetMark/ AED from 2005 to 2007 as M&E Coordinator. He has an MA in social work (specialized in community development), post-graduate diploma in NGO management, diploma in management, and BSC in animal science. Prior to joining AED, Berhanu worked for Save the Children/US as program M&E coordinator in the emergency and recovery program. He has taken courses in the area of disaster management, counseling skills, and population studies.

Dilame Gebre is the Senior Program Associate. She has six years experience on community development work. She has a BA in psychology and is an MBA candidate at Annamali University, Ethiopia. Prior to AED, she worked three years for Development and Social Service Commission as a community- based child development program expert and two years for UNDP/UNV as a gender specialist.

Duguma Gemossa is the Senior Finance & Operations Manager. Previously, he was chief accountant and country finance manager for Plan International/Ethiopia for 10 years. He has 20 years work experience in the budgeting, finance, and grants management and administration at various NGOs and government organizations. He has a BA in accounting from Addis Ababa University and is currently an ACCA finalist student.

Fanna Minwuyeletis a Communications Manager. Previously, she worked as program officer for HIV prevention, malaria prevention, and other program. She worked for two years with JHU/CCP AIDS Resource Center, where she was also a materials developer and administrative assistant.  She has experience in behavior change communication interventions, facilitation, writing, editing and translation. She has a degree in information sciences and an advanced diploma in commerce.

Gashu Fente is the M&E Advisor. Previously, he worked for AED/HCP as child survival and avian influenza program officer and health and education community mobilization officer. He has MSc in entomology and BSC in biology. With over 16 years of experience, he has worked in the Ministry of Education as a teacher and in the Ministry of Health as malaria and other vector borne diseases prevention and control expert. He also worked as Global Fund malaria consultant and assistant coordinator of the National Malaria Indicator Survey (MIS 2007).

Getachew Kebede is the Administrative and Finance Assistant. He has a BA in accounting from Unity University. Previously, he worked as an accountant for a drug and medical supplies importer & distributor, an administrative and finance manager for Ethioplants PLC, an administrative and finance officer for Ezana Health College, and as chief accountant for Yoly Hotel PLC.

Henock Gezahegn is the Project Director for C-Change/Ethiopia. He has extensive senior management experience, having led activities in both the private (Coca-Cola & Unilever) and public sectors (Population Services International) for the last 20 years. His portfolio includes social marketing of long-lasting insecticide treated bed nets (LLINs) for malaria prevention and child survival programs in diarrheal disease management using ORS/Zn and a wide range of point-of-use water treatment products, pneumonia prevention & treatment, and de-worming of school-age children. Henock is an internationally accredited business advisor on Creation of Entrepreneurs & Formation of Enterprises (CEFE), a global initiative to alleviate poverty through employment generation and has served as International Juror for Oklahoma University Water Technologies for Emerging Regions (WaTER) Center biennial prize, which recognizes individuals or groups that have made a significant contribution to water/sanitation in remote villages. Henock has a degree in microbiology and a Master’s in rural development. Currently he is studying business leadership at the University of South Africa.

Lemlem Bezabeh is the Assistant Finance & Administrative Manager. She is currently working on the grant management team for community-based behavior change communication interventions for malaria prevention and control. Previously, she worked as finance/administrative assistant for NetMark/AED.  Prior to AED, she worked as program assistant to Save the Children/US Positive Change program in Ethiopia. She has experience in private companies and international NGOs in finance, administration and communication for USAID-funded projects. She has a BA in foreign language and literature with a minor in political science & international relations.

Selam Girma is the Grant and Procurement Officer. She has over eight years of experience in administration, finance, procurement and grant management. Prior to AED, Selam served the private sector as a finance officer, and was the administrative and finance manager with Anania/Menaheria MCH Medical And Pharmaceuticals Company. In her work with the Ethiopian Interfaith Forum, she served in human resource management, finance, administration and grant management of multi-donor funds, including USAID, World Bank, and EU civil society funds. Selam has a BA in accounting from Jimma University. She is working to qualify as a certified accountant with ACCA UK.
